A peaty 8 year old Single Malt from a secret Islay, bottled by Ian Macleod as an introduction into malt whisky. The nose is quite smoky, there are some lovely maritime notes, the peat is quite evident though a little spirity. The palate is quite full and wellbalanced. There are notes of sultanas, mixed peels, peat smoke and kelp. The oak develops with marked aridity, continuing into the finish with more smoke.
