A reasonably wellpeated 8 year old single malt from an unnamed Island distillery. This was bottled by Ian Macleod as an introduction into the world of malt whisky. The nose is quite welloaked with dry smoke notes, a touch of kelp and sherried peels, some sultanas and a cut herb note with a rooty note. The palate is of mediumbody and quite sweet. There is a barley note with a good smoked note with a maritime quality. The finish is of good length with a little smoke and spice.
