Dark garnet core. Heavy Grenache nose of fruitcake, jam, molasses and Vitamin B, with some black pepper and more matures notes of celery, tobacco and spice. On the palate, the wine is surprisingly dry, with balanced acidity and reasonably resolved tannins (there was a heavy deposit upon decanting). Full-bodied, with the fruit (mostly plum, blueberry, fig and cherry) still very much alive, giving way to some black pepper and tobacco on the midpalate, with a refreshing and slightly astringent, tea-like finish.
